The IRS has announced changes to form 940. The new form will be, more user-friendly according to the IRS. The new form that is to be used for tax year 2006, coincides with the discontinuance of the old 940-EZ. Employers generally must pay this Federal Unemployment Tax on their payroll. I don't recall any client of ours collecting Federal Unemployment payments during a period of their being unemployed. The money probably is sent back to the states in some form.
